Covid-19 Long Haulers and your Right to Social Security Disability

I just read this article on the NPR news site. I found it very interesting. In order possibly be found disabled and received SSD/SSI benefits you need to have a disability that will last 12 months or more. Due to Covid-19 being so new, it is impossible to tell how long people will suffer from the problems associated with it. Will you have memory problems for the rest of your life? Will you have pain for the rest of your life? How long will your Chronic Fatigue last? Only research in the future will tell.  COVID-19 Long-Haulers Struggle To Get Condition Recognized As A Disability : Shots - Health News : NPR

If you and your doctor think your mental and physical disabilities will last atleast 12 months and you can not work right now you are better off applying for Social Security Disability now and not waiting. You can always dismiss your case if you start to feel better.
